More People Are Playing the Original Horizon Zero Dawn Than Its Remaster on PC 1

The novelty is definitely waning for Sony’s strategy of porting PlayStation games to PC. While the company is still seeing some success converting its titles to Steam, it’s clear its latest releases generally aren’t selling anywhere near as well as its initial wave – with Helldivers 2 being the obvious exception.

Case in point: there are more people playing the original version of Horizon Zero Dawn on Steam than its all-new remaster. While this perhaps isn’t entirely unexpected – there’s been much more time for people to purchase the original version of the game – it’s a little concerning that Nixxes’ impressive upgrade hasn’t attracted more attention on PC.

The original game peaked at 2,588 concurrent players over the last 24 hours, while its remaster managed 2,251 players. So it’s close, then, but when you consider the original’s all-time high of 56,557 players compared to the remaster’s 2,538 players, it’s clear a lot of PC players have checked out.

It’s worth remembering that concurrents don’t reflect total sales numbers; they’re just the number of people playing a game at any given time. However, a higher number here does tend to correlate with better sales.
