Alan Wake 2‘s second piece of DLC, The Lake House, appears to directly tease Remedy Entertainment‘s next project.
This article contains spoilers for The Lake House.
In one section of the DLC, the player meets a mysterious character who appears to have a connection to The Oldest House, the setting for Remedy’s previous title, Control.
After some dialogue, the character turns to the camera and says, “Tell Jesse I tried.” Jesse is the protagonist of the first Control game.
Following this, a short cutscene plays which appears to show The Oldest House, as well as the streets of New York City. This teaser is seemingly alluding to Control 2.
Control 2 is currently in development at Remedy Entertainment, where it is being co-financed by Annapurna. It will be published by Remedy Entertainment.
Annapurna also plans to bring Remedy IP, including Control and Alan Wake, to “film, TV and beyond”.
Explaining the deal, communications director Thomas Puha said: “Above all it means Remedy is able to make Control 2 exactly the game we want it to be, while we now also have an incredible partner to extend our IPs to other mediums.”
VGC’s Control review called the supernatural action adventure game “Remedy’s finest creation since the original Max Payne”.
Recently, Remedy Entertainment announced another game set in the Control universe, FBC: Firebreak.
